Partner Account Manager- Distribution
The Partner Account Manager- Distribution (PAM) is responsible for driving non-managed partner revenue through assigned distributors for the OEM and/or SMSP segments. The PAM is the primary relationship owner of the assigned distributors, both for day-to-day business as well as executive engagement.
Specific functions include business planning, marketing planning and execution, asset/inventory management, budget forecasting and management, training, quarterly business reviews and general relationship management. The role is an individual contributor but has dependencies on Regional Operations teams for order management support, OEM and SMSP marketing roles and through-partner marketing (BMO) to assist in marketing plan execution.
Success for the Distribution PAM will be measured, at a minimum, by the following:
Account growth through increased in Office and Server Attach and meeting annual revenue targets
Achieve unit and revenue business results for Client, Office and Server (COEM/ROK, PKC/FPP and Volume Licensing)
Grow Microsoft Online Services revenue and customer seat count for eligible distributors
Year-over-year increase in partner satisfaction as measured by CPE Survey
Reciprocal Conditions of Satisfaction (COS) in place for each Partner that meet quality standards defined by Sales management and included as part of a comprehensive up-to-date account plan
Major responsibilities include:
Development of 1-3 year strategic plans
Drive revenue for Full Packaged Product, Product Key Card, Commercial OEM and Volume License business
Execution against quarterly business initiatives and marketing plans
Drive System Builder and VAR coverage across product categories and geographies
Manage key revenue levers by account (MDF, Rebates, Sales Incentives)
Increase attach rates of Windows, Office and Windows Server to new PC’s
Development and execution of sales and marketing plans for Microsoft Online Services through eligible distributors
Land and accelerate Services revenue through distribution
Escalation point for distributor and reseller-initiated issues
Leverage the Distributor Health Index (DHI) to identify execution gaps and develop correction plan
The Distributor PAM must be knowledgeable across a variety of disciplines and is responsible for communicating and localizing Microsoft’s SMS&P and OEM segment strategies.
Accountability: Directly responsible for assigned distributor revenue results for FPP, Open and/or OEM license types.
Scope: The role must possess a solid understanding of the VAR, System Builder and PC reseller channels as well as associated vendors within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Communication: The Distributor PAM is the key single point of contact for communicating Microsoft strategies and issue escalation.
Leadership: Responsible for representing Microsoft at distributor engagements and driving executive level meetings
Vision: The role is also responsible for identifying trends (opportunities/threats) within the System Builder, reseller and Sub-distributor channels, where applicable.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) / MBA
5+ years experience in distribution or major channel account management experience with proven results
Strong understanding of distributor and reseller channel business model and economics * Understanding how MS Distributors and Partners market/sell to SMB customers
Proven experience developing and executing against long term strategic plans
Ability to engage and influence at the CXO level
Demonstrated cross group collaboration abilities
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
